Allen's idea to set up rivalries worked out in a couple cases -- Smash, Kingdom Hearts, Division MGS -- but a couple of those rivalry ideas were just painful. Halo 3 was never going to beat 1, and Final Fantasy 9 was never going to beat Final Fantasy X. 43% of people picked FFX to make it out of its division, the highest prediction percentage by far of any round 4 match.
The fact we all had to be happy because FFX "only" scored 63% here, as opposed to other Square SFF matches in the past that have gotten ugly in a hurry. The only real comparison to make here was how well FF9 did compared to Golden Sun, but it's not like that means much of anything. This whole division felt like it was set up to get FFX as far into the tournament as possible.
