I'd love to bust out the old "picture was better than the match" joke, but is Samus even in that picture? GANON's one of my favorites, but he completely dropped the ball on this one.
This was obviously a really predictable match, because no game from the top half of this division was going to upset Prime. But with what we know now about how strong Prime really was this contest, Okami (and Mega Man 9, by extrapolation) were pretty damn legit this contest. When this match happened a lot of people were surprised by how well Okami did in getting near 42% on Prime and bleeding its percentage all day, but the game has gone nowhere but up between every single contest. Granted during the match people were still curious about whether this meant Prime was screwed next round, but what's a PCA without some revisionist history? :)
Remember back in 2007 when people worried about whether or not Amaterasu could beat Matt the Mii and Little Mac in her very first match, then were stunned once she beat Balthier and Ada Wong? That whole thing looks pretty dumb in retrospect, and one could possibly say Okami got a contest title boost. Has anyone ever said a single bad thing about that game?
