Other than maybe Majora vs GSC, this was the best picture of the entire third round. Link sidestepping Fox's laser so it shoots the CoD4 slug right in the face is something else, and it's good symbolism for what the Call of Duty series deserves.
Though with that said, this was another bad overnight percentage bleed for Melee. To start over 75% and fall all the way down to 69 is bad, and it was another one of those little forshadowings of what Brawl was getting ready to do to it next round. I know Call of Duty is the casual du joir for people that can't play real games, but it's difficult to imagine the other contest favorites bleeding this badly. You think Brawl, FFX or one of the two big Zelda games bleeds 6% in any time frame to a game and series this entire site hates? Add to that Melee's bracket numbers, which are really bad for a 1 seed in the third round, and you get a game setting itself up to disappoint people.
Being totally honest here, this was where I started getting worried for Melee. Then the Kingdom Hearts match happened, and I went on record saying Brawl would get 51% in that match. I really really wish that would have been wrong, but the signs were there.
