On the surface, this was Melee's second blowout win in a row. Look a bit deeper however and you could see how much trouble Melee would be in a couple rounds. It's not just Melee starting near 75% and falling down to about what FFX scored on Morrowind in the LOL 4-ways, but it was also the trends.
Melee vs Brawl was a night match, and the Gamecube was virtually nonexistent in Europe compared to the Wii. Melee did fairly fairly overnight in two matches to this point, while evidence suggested Brawl could do decently there. And during the morning, Melee only went up around a half percent in this match. With Brawl killing every day match, this suggested Melee would have an issue coming back if Brawl were to take Europe.
Unless you were a believer the Melee fanbase would rally their asses off or Morrowind boosted inexplicably between 2009 and 2010, Brawl was basically the favorite going in.
