I know the 2015 stats are totally all kinds of nutty, but, um...
Ocarina of Time (2015g) VS Mass Effect 2 (2015g)
Ocarina of Time has a strength of 47.95.
Mass Effect 2 has a strength of 25.58.
Ocarina of Time wins with 73.33% of the vote!
A win of 28,400 with 60,875 total votes cast.
Getting nearly 70% in round five is completely insane, and it helps prove the theory (though I doubt it's a "theory" at this point) that Breath of the Wild is a 90s strength video game plopped into a bracket that in no way had a prayer of matching up. Breath of the Wild might one day be challenged in a normal contest against games like Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy 7, Ocarina of Time, Pokemon RBY, and the rest of the 90s heavy hitters, but for this contest we were living in the Breath of the Wild Invitational. It sucked to see Mass Effect 2 go out like this, but like I've said many times, only one game gets to end its run with a win.
I would like to give a bit of love to Mass Effect 2 on the way out the door, because getting into the final eight shouldn't have a thoroughly unceremonious end. All the way back in 2011, I played 1 and 2 back to back. I loved 1, but I loved 2. 2 takes everything 1 does, flips it around, turns it all up to 11, and is one of the few games ever made that can be classified as "perfect". The entire reason butthurt idiots were so mad about 3's ending is because 2 was so good. It had the best characters, the best voice acting, the best gameplay, the Collectors were a truly terrifying villain even if they were a literal Aliens ripoff, and probably the best overall story. And yes, contradiction guy, I know it's just a glorified rail shooter. Fuck off.
Very, very, very few games can match Mass Effect 2's brilliance. If for some insane reason you haven't played it or its series yet, you need to. Don't let it scoring 32% in some poll fool you. Mass Effect 2 is universally loved.
Quick note about this match is that two matches per day were still happening, which is massively dumb. Winning a division should mean getting the spotlight alone.
Ctes's Analysis[]
The fifth match in the contest and Breath of the Wild once again easily achieves the doubling but still declined in percentage from the previous round. This time the oracles actually underestimated a bit, but I guess what we underestimated was Dragon Quest. The Witcher 3 does its best to look impressive each round and it does, but it’s just clear every time that Breath of the Wild has a match that even a solid rally from The Witcher 3 would not put it near Breath of the Wild. Fortunately, the second chance bracket being an oracle type of challenge meant that we had reason to follow a match like this.
Mass Effect 2 is just happy to be here. It achieved everything it could hope for by winning its division and breaking 30% today was what it could have hoped for. It’s a clear step ahead of GTAV and a clear step below the rest of the #1 seeds, so it’s a good choice for something to be fed to Breath of the Wild. It had already entertained us plenty up to this point.
Mass Effect as a franchise is a done deal now, so it’s great to see that we fondly remember the second entry in the series. This was the game that made it as big as it was. Remember how much stronger Mass Effect was in 2010 than in 2009 because this game had come out? How much better Shepard looked after this game came out? It’s fantastic. They really nailed what they were trying to accomplish. I mean, the first one is good, but this is the one that really caught us.
The series has been through a lot since then. The third game came out to a very mixed reception among fans. I personally love most of it, but I agree with the common critique of the story not being rounded off properly. DLC fixed some issues, but fixing things through DLC doesn’t redeem everything. They still dropped the ball a bit then. Andromeda came out years later to completely kill the series though. A huge shame they couldn’t create another fantastic trilogy, but what can you do. At least Mass Effect 2 having success today proved that the series reached our hearts back then and despite almost coming out in the previous decade, we showed that respect 10 years later.

So after BOTW barely scored 70 on DQ 11 we lowered somewhat our expectations and BOTW had an average of 65 winning percentage here. But guess what. We got fooled. In fact it barely did any worse than against DQ 11. That seems to be that DQ 11 is similar to ME 2. Also according to this DQ 11 beats even RE 2. Pretty sure nobody would have taken this before the contest. Man DQ is super legit now. I am glad for it. Hope it continues to do even better.
So for the match. Well BOTW won and it even scored above a doubling. This is one of the best dominant performances ever in a contest. I mean this game has reached the semifinal and it scored above 70 in all games and even in this one it even managed to stay close to that. Zeldafaqs, am I right? And as I said above it did better than expected. Guess we can atrribute that to ME 2 beeing weaker too which does makes sense too. The game is old, the latest game sucked and nothing else has been announced. Still it did managed to reach that far which is great. Just play ME 2 if you haven't.
