One day after Alucard went out and... well, performed like Alucard (the guy just can't ever have an impressive win, can he?), Sora came out and laid an egg against Agent 47. I barely know a damn thing about the Hitman series, but it's hard to imagine its main character having any form of strength at ALL in a GameFAQs contest. This is the same genre that produced Tanner, our biggest loser ever.
Okay so maybe it's not the same genre, but you get the point. Same type of appeal. 70% may seem like a good number in most cases, but against Agent 47 (who some called Neo Tanner before the contest even began), it's a very "meh" performance.
What we were essentially left with after this match was a fourpack of rats, and the winner of Alucard/Sora would simply come down to who has lost less of their luster. It's hard to pin down who had the advantage going in given that they both went up against untested newbies, but it's hard to ignore what Riku did against Frog. It's even harder to think of Sora as being weaker than Riku, which is practically what Alucard needed to win the match.
Meet Alucard/Sora, a match in which the pre-match hype was almost resolved by a poll that took place five days before either of them took the field. Frog/Riku virtually sealed this (though many people, myself included, still argued that Alucard had a chance... blah, who were we kidding), and it essentially meant that neither this nor the previous match meant anything. It would have been nice to see one of the two characters beat someone who had been in a contest before without having to look at Frog/Riku over and over again, but you can't have everything.
