Can you believe this match was heavily debated before the contest? Had the guru picked FF12 while half the site picked Portal, the gurus would have deserved every bashing for following the LOL x-stats that had FF12 equal to Half-Life 2 or whatever it was from the LOL 4-ways.
How about we just LOL Final Fantasy 12 instead? Few matches in contests will go exactly as each entrant deserves, but FF12 getting its doors blown off by Portal was very much a well-deserved result. FF12 was a terrible game in my opinion, what with the single player MMO stuff and the no plot and boring environments that literally put me to sleep and etc etc. Meanwhile you get Portal, one of the decade's true masterpieces just killing it.
Very few games can bleed percentage all over the place and still end up looking good, but Portal going from 65% to below 60% by match's end was just fine. This was still a blowout, and a damn proper one. F*** Final Fantasy 12.
This was a mother f***ing triumph.
