I know this technically isn't a "win" for Yuri, but I don't even care. Yuri is the best JRPG lead ever, and getting second place when second place matters is something I'll gladly take! Yuri is not a typical lead. Rather than some stupid lecture and boss fight, he just kicks ass and takes names in-game. It's quite a treat to see when a character could tear something in 29478 in-battle, but in a scene he's a candy-ass. Yuri is the best.
There was some debate here about whether Face could upset Yuri for second place, given Tiny Tina's good showing, but that went out the window very very fast. And once the match was almost entirely decided in minutes, we thanked the based gods for fourway polling in early rounds. Can you imagine 24 hours of this over and over and over again?
I should probably discuss Borderlands somewhere in here among all the good showings, even if none of the characters outright shocked us with upsets. My best friend plays it all the time, and it seems like a first person Diablo 2, only with much better item drops for loot and specific enemies that can drop specific things if you farm long enough. Seems really neat and I should try it once day. It also has pretty cool music.
The humor and plot seem unbelievably stupid and forced, though.
Is Yuri the second-strongest Tales character after Lloyd? People love this dude even though Vesperia was a billion years ago. I think it got a PS4 re-release recently, so maybe his strength will stay consistent.
Anyway, not much to say here except that Face McShooty got in and finding a picture of a random side character from a miscellaneous Borderlands 2 quest was a huge pain in the ass. Seemed like any rally no matter how small paid off in some way in 2013. Gives me hope for Metal Sonic!
Yuri did pretty bad here, he couldn't double Face and got doubled by Ryu, who is a high-midcarder, yeah, but GameFAQs likes Tales a lot, and it's nice seeing these characters get a chance to spank fodder like Face.
