Nothing lasts forever, and there was just no way the first round of this contest was going to continue on the insane pace it was on. After RSE > GTA4, we went on a run of 12 straight predictable snoozefests. Things wouldn't get interesting again until the Persona 3 vs Civilization 4 match, except the match was... you know, Persona 3 vs Civilization 4. Give us a debated match where the games combine to sell more than 35 copies or something. People manufactured drama over dumb matches, like pretending Tales of Vesperia vs Borderlands would be close, but everyone knew better.
That said, this match was funny. Oh F-Zero stood no chance to win, but Dragon Age killing in a poll offered Board 8 the chance to see Anagram in action. As everyone knows, Anagram wrote a 16 page essay on why he thinks Dragon Age is bad, but the writeup was so long he had nowhere to put it, so he just left it on his desktop. No seriously, that's a paraphrased quote from the man himself.
But he couldn't write all that and not show anyone, so he broke it up and posted it. All over the place. In every single topic about the game, not to mention all the topics he would repeatedly make about it. Then the match hit and Dragon Age just wrecked, so you can bet your ass he wouldn't be able to help himself from going all ADD with that ridiculous rant.
People hate how I used to bash Shadow of the Colossus all the time, and I'm literarily capable with a vernacular acumen well above the normal standard deviations. Now imagine how well a months-long rant from someone that can't write went over.
For that reason and that reason alone, the match was high f***ing comedy. I have no issues with Anagram personally and you can check my friends list on Facebook for proof, but those rants of his are hiiiiiii-larious. If he makes a topic about Dragon Age, ever, I'm reading it. And I will laugh a whole hell of a lot.
(And yes I asked his permission to write this, though he can't remember anything beyond 5 minutes ago so he undoubtedly forgot I asked! <3)
I do like the guy though, seriously. And when you start a string of 12 straight bad matches, you need entertainment from somewhere. Not many matches surpassed the Anagram Special.
