There was a mild chance Perfect Dark could pull the upset here. And though it didn't happen, it still went out and embarrassed Call of Duty 4 like few other games have ever been embarrassed in wins.
Perfect Dark may be an FPS on the Nintendo 64, but it's no Goldeneye. We'd never seen any real proof of the game having any strength before this poll, and frankly there's still no proof. Call of Duty 4 is just crap in polls. The game went on to only do marginally better against Melee than Morrowind did, and I'm not so sure Morrowind couldn't win that match.
And all this was during a day match with a picture imbalance. I know Ngamer likes my Perfect Dark picture (and he's the #1 PD fan on Board 8), but I didn't like it too much. And even still, it did fairly well here. Call of Duty hate runs pretty deep on this site, and it'll be funny in 10 years to see how badly Black Ops does compared to the other 9 sequels.
