This was a very weird match to learn much of anything from, especially with it basically staying still in percentages all match. AC2 made a decent ASV increase, but it was nothing huge.
With both games untested and the match obvious to call from the start, focus immediately shifted back to Shadow of the Colossus and the MGS series. With how little respect the ICO team got in brackets and battle challenges, it was a safe bet to assume AC2 only getting 62% on it meant bad news. Which in turn meant MGS4's score on AC1 wasn't all that great.
You actually could make the case this match foreshadowed the Shadow of the Colossus run since that series plus MGS and AC all seemed weak, but it takes a lot of mental gymnastics to reach that point. And when you look ahead, AC2 ended up doing very well for itself. Just a really strange series of matches all around.
