Halo 3 being the favorite here honestly confused me, because Halo 1 thoroughly owns that series. Halo 1 wasn't just the Xbox mascot. It was the Xbox. I know we can look back on this match after the KH and Brawl duels and think Halo 3 being the favorite made sense, but it really didn't. It was never going to win this match, though the casuals obviously thought otherwise.
Alec doesn't SackUpOrShutUp™ for nothing, my friends.
The match obviously didn't end up a pure SFF killing, and Halo 3 actually started going up a little in percentage during the ASV. So let's give the game credit where it's due, as it easily could have rolled over and given us Link > Ganondorf numbers under the right conditions. But it was still 57-43, which is a significant inter-series win for the elder statesman.
A lot of us got the hierarchy wrong within the MGS, Smash and Kingdom Hearts series, but one thing the majority of experts got right this contest was Halo 1 > 3 > 2. Granted I would trade in getting this right for a Melee win any day, but what can you do.
When the match ended, the stats page showed Ninja Gaiden somehow winning the match because that's just how ninjas roll. It was eventually fixed, but it was the best glitch all contest.
