Banjo

Banjo is one half of the infamous bird-and-bear duo from the Banjo-Kazooie series. He made his video game debut in the 1997 N64 racing title Diddy Kong Racing. A year later, Banjo-Kazooie came out for the Nintendo 64 and was massively praised by almost everyone who played it. As expected, a sequel came out in 2000 titled Banjo-Tooie. Both were platformer games and both are still considered to be some of the best games to come out on the Nintendo 64.

Sadly for Banjo, it ended there. He would later star in Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge on the Game Boy Advance, which didn't get the spotlight that the two N64 games had. Along with that was Banjo Pilot, an ultimately forgettable Game Boy Advance game. Banjo now plans to make his debut on the Xbox 360 with Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts, though he looks much different in this game than he did in the late 1990s. Along with that, Banjo-Kazooie is being re-released on Xbox Live Arcade in November 2008.

In the Summer Contests, Banjo's arrival was too little too late. He debuted in the Summer 2007 Contest and finished last against Captain Falcon, Fox, and Wario. He returned to the Summer 2008 Contest, and along with Captain Olimar, lost to Mega Man and Nero.
