Halo's Board 8 story. Several people signed up their own characters for it. Some good guys, some bad guys.
The name "Beogard" came from mixing up letters of "Board Eight." And "Delhaft" (The bad guy's land) came from mixing letters of "Poll of the Day," which is Board 8's rival board.
