GameFAQs is the video game help and discussion website on which the GameFAQs contests are featured. Starting in 2002, site owner CJayC began holding Summer Contests, which are popularity tournaments featuring 64 (or more) different video game characters. Board 8 was created for discussion of these contests. Until 2006 the board's name would always change to the reflect the most recent contest being held, but since the Spring 2006 Contest B8 has been officially known as "GameFAQs Contests".
