Marcus Fenix is the lead character in the Gears of War series. He is a chainsaw-gun wielding mercenary who is called upon as Earth's last hope from a group of enemies known as locusts.
After the success of Gears of War, Fenix grabbed enough nominations to get in the Summer 2007 Contest. He was placed with Kefka, Tom Nook, and Zelos Wilder for his first match. Marcus showed a strong day vote that helped him get past Kefka and take first place in his debut match. In round two, Marcus did it again, as the day vote helped him blow Kefka and Revolver Ocelot into the dust, allowing the mercenary to advance with Cloud to the third round. In round three, Marcus would finish last against Cloud, Ryu, and Auron.
Marcus returned to action in the Summer 2008 Contest, but was placed in a situation where the day vote wouldn't have any effect, against Auron, Sub-Zero, and Rydia; in fact, Marcus bombed so hard that he finished last there, even below Rydia.
