Mega Man's second game is basically legendary by now. Innovations of the game included having 8 robot masters instead of 6, having a teleporter room so you could boss rush in a different order every game, removing that really stupid scoring system, Energy Tanks, having multiple mobility items that you won from bosses instead of finding them at random, and ADDING A MUCH-NEEDED PASSWORD SYSTEM. It also disallowed the ability to re-visit the stages of the robot masters, which alongside Mega Man 3 make them the only games in the series where that is true.

The American version of the game had a difficulty toggle, which made bosses take double damage from your attacks if it was set to Normal instead of the default Difficult. This feature was removed from every re-released version of the game except the one on the Virtual Console.

Some people say that I Can't Defeat Air Man.
