Who is Pit?[]

Pit is the main character in Kid Icarus, a game nobody played. He is now famous for his inclusion in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Pit is an angel and was a given a sacred bow from the Goddess, Palutena. His mission is to stop the evil Goddess, Medusa. Pit was set to be included in SSB and SSBM but was removed due to technical difficulties and not being popular enough.

"The captain of the royal bodyguards of Palutena, goddess of light and ruler of Angel Land. The dark goddess, Medusa, conquered the underworld, the surface world, and the heavens, and imprisoned Palutena. Pit escaped and, armed with Palutena's magical bow, set out to free her. Along the way, he gathered Three Sacred Treasures with which he challenged Medusa." - Pit's Trophy Description in Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Contest History[]

Win-Loss Record: 0-3

Summer 2007 Contest - Division 5 - First Group

  • Division 5 Round 1 --- 3rd place, 25650 [18.72%] - Luigi, 62987 [45.96%] - Mudkip, 39971 [27.71%] - Tingle, 10436 [7.62%]

Due to his announcement in Brawl, Pit was able to make the contest and avoid complete embarrassment by not losing to Tingle. If a new Kid Icarus game was released, perhaps he could gain some real strength.

Summer 2008 Contest - Division 5 - Third Group

Even with the actual release of Brawl, Pit wasn't able to do much. Blame it on King Dedede being in the same group or the two regulars: Ryu and Zero. At least he's never finished last in a match and he may benefit in a 1 vs. 1 setting.

Pit missed out on the Winter 2010 Contest and it's doubtful he will make another without a new game.

Summer 2013 Contest - Division 8 - 7 Seed

  • Division 8 Round 1 --- 3rd place, 9162 [28.91%] - (12) Urdnot Wrex, 11842 [37.37%] - (21) Cecil Harvey, 10684 [33.72%]

With his first game in over 20 years released there were big expectations for Pit and he quickly became the board favourite in his first round match. As the match came closer people began to doubt how much Pit will boost, add in the fact old Square characters were performing great and by match time the board was quite split as to who would win. Even though he won the board vote he quickly lost the lead to Cecil and by 30 minutes into the match he was in last place as Wrex decided to impress and win the match outright. While he did underperform to the board's expectation he did receive quite the boost overall.
