Ragna the Bloodedge is the main protagonist of the BlazBlue series. As a child Ragna lived with his siblings in a church until one day it was set a fire and burned down. During this time his right arm was cut offed. Later on he was bitten by a vampire which turned his blond hair to white. When he comes into contact with the Azure Grimoire it turns to dust and manifests into an arm, replacing the one that was cut offed. He is then trained by Jubei of the Six Heroes in order to control the power of the Azure Grimoire. After the training was completed Jubei gave the jacket and sword, Blood Scythe which belonged to a hero named Bloodedge.
Ragna is seen as sardonic, rude and abrasive to anyone he comes across. He is also quick to anger, stubborn and never misses a chance to use foul language. However, Ragna also possesses a more compassionate side towards people he has known for a long time.
Ragna also has a deep hatred for the Novus Orbis Librarium and travels city to city destroying their bases. Due to this Ragna has become a wanted criminal and has gained a very large bounty on his head.
