Who is Wander?[]
Wander is the main character of the PlayStation 2 cult classic Shadow of the Colossus. Wander's goal is to resurrect a girl named Mono, who, according to Wander, was killed because of her cursed fate. In order to do this, Wander steals the only weapon capable of killing the 16 Colossi. Along with his trusty horse Agro, he travels to the forbidden land and makes a deal with a mysterious entity named Dormin, who promises to revive Mono if Wander manages to defeat all of the colossi. Although Dormin warns Wander that he may have to pay a great price, Wander relentlessly defeats the colossi, even as his complexion seemingly deteriorates.
She was sacrificed for she has a cursed fate. Please, I need you to bring back her soul. - Wander
Contest History[]
Win-Loss Record: 0-4
Summer 2007 Contest - Division 3 - Third Group
- Division 3 Round 1 --- 4th place, 11819 [8.99%] - Mario, 76130 [57.91%] - Big Boss, 30234 [23.00%] - Pac-Man, 13289 [10.11%]
Thanks to an expanded field, Wander was able to make his first contest. As was expected, though, he never really bothered to show up, easily losing to Pac-Man and never being in any sort of contention to advance.
Summer 2008 Contest - Division 3, Third Group
- Division 3 Round 1 --- 4th place, 10405 [7.51%] - Vincent Valentine, 63262 [45.67%] - Falco Lombardi, 37158 [26.82%] - GLaDOS, 27708 [20.00%]
After failing to break 9% the previous year, Wander decided that even that wasn't bad enough. Thanks to being grouped with three mid-carders, Wander barely managed to break 10k votes, and once again showed just how fodderific he truly is.
Winter 2010 Contest - Midgar Division - 13 Seed
- Midgar Round 1 --- Lost to (4) Captain Falcon, 19060 [28.87%] - 46968 [71.13%]
- Extrapolated Strength --- 113th [16.13%]
Thanks to the supposed Anti-BlowoutFAQs movement we saw throughout the contest, Wander was actually able to put up a decent number against Captain Falcon. Add in a fairly-direct path to Link and some good performances by Captain Falcon, and you Wander actually managing to not be one of the worst of the worst. Of course, when stats have Wander beating Master Chief, something is clearly wrong.
Summer 2013 Contest - Division 4 - 19 Seed
- Division 4 Round 1 --- 3rd place, 6714 [21.73%] - (9) Bayonetta, 15294 [49.50%] - (10) N, 8892 [28.78%]
Despite being in a relatively weak group Wander still continued to show he is one of the weakest characters to repeatedly return to the contests. He was easily doubled by Bayonetta and almost performed as badly against her as he did against Captain Falcon which suggests he may be even weaker now.
